Reverse buckling discs represent the best technology in rupture discs. Invented by BS&B, our range provides a pressure relief solution for burst pressures from a few inches of water column / few millibars to 70,000 psig / 4800 bar.
Burst pressure is accurately controlled by the material properties and the shape of the disc`s domed structure. The reverse buckling disc, when properly tightened, can resist operating pressure up to 100% of the minimum burst pressure, even under pressure cycling or vibrating conditions.
Reverse Buckling discs, which are designed not to shatter after bursting, are recommended for use in combination with pressure relief valves to isolate these valves from normal process conditions, provide excellent sealing, reduce valve maintenance costs and generally allow for lower cost valve installation.
